Felted Tunisian Bag Design in progress

I recently came up with a very easy way to make a bag tunisian style.. you don't need stitch counts, just make it about 1/3 to 1/2 again wider and longer than you want the resulting bag to be. I hope to eventually write out the numbers, but for now.. here's what I have.

Here's a diagram of what I mean. I don't remember what size Tunisian hook I used.. probably a M or N. I usually reverse sc around the inside of handles, but it looked so strange prefelting that I decided to just do the top edge. Turns out that you don't need reverse sc on the inside of tunisian handles made this way.

Prefelting side 1 (I'm not very happy with the pooling here).

And side 1 felted.

Side 2 Prefelting. I like this a lot better.

Post felting.

The edges look very wavy here.. and it needs a shave!!

Crosshatch Scarf

Materials: 1 or 2 skeins of Bernat Camoflauge (model used slightly more than 1 skein of the Pink Camo)

G hook ( I used Clover Softtouch)

Large eyed Needle (to weave in the ends when finished).

Loosely Chain 210.

Row 1: 2 dc into 3rd chain from hook. * skip 3 ch, sc into next ch. Chain 3, 1 dc into each of the next 3 chains. Repeat from * to last 4 chains. Skip 3 chains, 1 sc into last chain.

Row 2: Turn. Chain 3 (counts as a dc), 2 dc into last sc from first row. * Skip 3 dc, 1 sc into first chain of ch 3 on previous row, chain 3, 1 dc into next 2 chains, dc into next sc. Repeat from * ending with skip 2 dc, 1 sc into top of turning chain.

Repeat 2nd Row until scarf is at desired width. Then make final row. The scarf in the picture is 7 rows wide.

Finishing Row: Turn. Chain 3 (counts as a dc), 2 dc into last sc from first row. * Skip 3 dc, 1 sc into first chain of ch 3 on previous row, chain 2, 1 dc into next 2 chains, dc into next sc. Repeat from * ending with skip 2 dc, 1 sc into top of turning chain. End off and weave in ends.

NOTE: The only difference between Row 2 and the Finishing row is that you chain 2 on the last row instead of chain 3.

For a longer or shorter scarf, make sure your starting chain is a multiple of 7.

If you are a tight crocheter, you can make the dc's over the chain 3 loops instead of into the chains. The scarf will look only a little bit different.

You can fringe if desired.

Same pattern made with bernat softee chunky and changing colors every few rows:
